Ahfook’s Story

At the Christmas day of 2007, it was the wedding day of my college (APIIT) classmate Andrew Fong Kah Soon, with his lovely wife Mandy Yong. I was fortunated to be their wedding dinner photographer. The dinner was held at Noble Banquet located at Jalan Bukit Bintang.

The couples are friendly and able to pose naturally when I pointed the camera to them, very cooperative This make my job easier as a photographer.

The dinner also like APIIT little gathering as normally we hardly see each other except on some big events.

Congratulations and hope this lovely couple will have wonderful life and joyful journey ahead. All the best.

Previously I had big problems with comment spamming in my blog. The moron spammers sent rubbish comments in to my comment box even though my blog is not famous at all =.=

To maintain the tidiness of my blog, I set the setting that all comments to be held for moderation before appear on the blog, and I’ve even installed an anti spam plug-in (with text in the image) to prevent spam. However these spam robots are too smart to guess the image text and manage to get through. It was a nightmare to clean up the rubbish everyday, and my blog readers cannot have their comment being viewed immediately after submitted.

At last, I tried Akismet that installed together with WordPress. After getting a API key from WordPress.com, I started to use Akismet to assist me to deal with the moron spammers. After few weeks, I’ve found out that Akismet does a very good job on fighting spam. Now I just need go into the blocked comments to check whether Akismet has blocked the wrong comments accidentally. Fortunately Akismet didn’t kill a comment wrongly, so far.

Now I decided to set the new comments to be visible directly after my readers submitting their comments, because I can rest assure that no (or may be only little) spam comments can get through Akismet

After weeks of trial and error… Finally I have my Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon (7.10) connected to Internet

Installation of Ubuntu 7.10 was extremely easy, but getting it online was a nightmare to me, but thanks to Google, I finally have it online, downloaded MP3 codec, and writing my first blog post in Linux environment…

Yes, after 3 weeks of playing paintball, I back to Mudtrekker again for paintball. This time i went with my company colleagues. Thanks to Albert for organizing this event, well done

There were only 11 of us, so it was quite tiring for us to running the whole field. However we still had fun with the games. As usual I got head shot too, and one of them mark my forehead with bruise because the pallet was exploded at the edge of my face mask. Additional, I also got 2 bruises at my left arm, 1 at my left hand ring finger, 1 at my right chest and 1 at my right leg.

The whole event was quite similar with my previous paintball trips, but this time we witnessed the use of smoke grenade in the game by another group. I not sure how useful was the grenade but when our turn to use the field, we need to wait for the smoke gone before continue our next games

After the games we went to Kepong town’s main road 為食街to have our lunch before we calling it an ‘event’.

Music Reunion Gig is back, for the fifth time. This time the gig is a little bit different with previous gigs, this time the main music theme is not only rock music, but also electronica too.
